Mescal is created in 1993. The first intent is to produce and to safeguard emerging musicians, noteworthy projects that most often have been overlooked, or even worse, ignored by the official recording industry.
In the span of these 17 years the structure has evolved itself up to the point where the artist is guaranteed a privileged treatment, to the point of safeguarding him over the whole 360 degrees. Not only label, born subsequently in 1997, with all that it involves, but also management and live office with an articulated and efficient structure for the production and construction of the events. Within Mescal, the artists are followed step by step through the production of the record, the promotional and marketing strategies, the contract and publishing consulting, etc..
In the past years, Mescal has directly produced hundreds of concerts and events such as the touring Festival "Tora! Tora!", musical kermesse that hosted tens and tens of artists, remaining today, incomparable in form and essence! The first four editions (2001/2002/2003/2004) have been certified by the production of as many double compilations! The Tora! Tora! Festival has officially closed in 2005 leaving a legacy of a beautiful photographic book : "Tora! Tora! - 70 artisti si raccontano nel diario fotografico del Festival italiano itinerante" ".
In the first months of 2004 the Piedmontese label, has published, as Mescal books, "Dianablu", the literary debut of Davide "Boosta" Dileo (Subsonica’s keyboards player); as Mescal video, the dvd relative to the first film played by Samuel Romano (Subsonica) and by Dan Solo (ex Marlene Kuntz) entitled "Pornodrome - una storia dal vivo". Always regarding DVDs the Piedmontese label has published in the following months, two versions of "Cielo Tangenziale Ovest - Subsonica" and cooperating within La Casa 139, the known Milanese club, in 2006, the double DVD of Marco Parente "Neve Ridens un giorno + Il Rumore dei Libri" and the cd + dvd of Cesare Basile "14.06.2006", distributed by EMI.
Today Mescal, with the booking agency experience and relative live productions dismissed, is exclusively a record label and management, with headquarters in Nizza Monferrato in the provincial town of Asti. Head of Mescal is Dr. Valerio Soave.
